DPP Warns Corrupt Prosecutors of Dismissal

Director of Public Prosecutions -DPP- GILBERT PHIRI has warned that any prosecutor found guilty of corruption or misconduct would face swift dismissal.

Mr. PHIRI says prosecutors should prioritise public interest, justice administration, and the integrity of the judicial systems outlined in the Zambian Constitution.

He said this during the launch of the National Prosecution Authority -NPA- new code of conduct which is designed to guide prosecutors in delivering fair and ethical services to the public.

Mr. PHIRI said the launch of the code is a major step in ensuring the integrity and excellence of the Zambian justice system and inspire public confidence.

And Chairperson NPA Integrity committee THELMA MUMBA expressed confidence that the Code will help prosecutors to discharge their function in a diligent, professional and ethical manner.
