Driver pleads guilty to the charge of causing Chief Justice accident

A Zambia Revenue Authority -ZRA- Examination Officer has admitted dangerously driving his BMW vehicle which hit into Chief Justice MUMBA MALILA’s official car.
This is in a matter where PHILEMON DYAMIN, 30 is charged with two counts of dangerous driving and failing to change ownership of his vehicle.
In count one, it is alleged that on 30th August 2024 the accused drove his vehicle along Independence Avenue in Lusaka in a manner that was dangerous to the public and lost control.
In count two, the accused failed to deliver registration documents of his vehicle in order to effect change of ownership of the said car.
When he appeared before magistrate MOFFAT PHIRI at the Fast Track court in Lusaka today, Mr. DYAMIN admitted to the charges.
He told the court that he lost control of the vehicle because his car brakes failed.
The matter has been adjourned to tomorrow October 16, 2024 for reading facts and sentencing.
