ECZ to announce Petauke by-election date

The Electoral Commission of Zambia -ECZ- says it will in the next few days announce the date for the Petauke Central Parliamentary by election.
ECZ Chief Electoral Officer BROWN KASARO says this follows a notice from the Speaker of the National Assembly to the ECZ Chairperson on the vacancy of a parliamentary seat.
In an interview with ZNBC news in Lusaka today, Mr. KASARO said the notice was written and received on November 27, 2024.
He said the commission is currently considering dates when to conduct nominations and polls, with the outcome to be communicated to all stakeholders in due course.
