Edison Ngoma’s Body claimed
By Cecilia Zyambo
The family of EDISON NGOMA, the man who spent 55 years in Chainama Mental Health Hospital under admission, has finally been given the go-ahead to bury their relative.
This is after the family produced an introductory letter, confirming their identity, from Chief JUMBE of Mambwe district, Eastern province.
Mr. NGOMA died aged 91 about a fortnight ago, while still under admission.
His family, which never visited him during the entire period of admission, only showed up upon his death.
Chainama Mental Health Hospital Public Relations Manager, GEORGE TAFUNA has confirmed the release of Mr NGOMA’s body to his family, which needed to prove their legitimacy.
And family spokesperson, GALAGALA MALAMA has said the Department of Social Welfare and Chainama Hospital will help in the burial arrangements for Mr NGOMA.
Mr MALAMA has further said the burial date has not yet been set.
