Eighteen ambulances have arrived in the country, bringing the total to 29 out of the 156 procured under the Constituency Development Fund -CDF.
Local Government Permanent Secretary, NICHOLAS PHIRI, revealed that six more ambulances are currently at the port, while 12 are en route and expected to arrive by mid February 2025.
Speaking during an inspection of the second consignment of ambulances in Lusaka today, Mr. PHIRI assured that the delivery process remains on schedule, with the remaining consignments expected to be in the country by March 2025.
He said the ministry will not wait for all 156 ambulances to arrive before starting distribution.
Mr. PHIRI said priority will be given to constituencies more prone to disease outbreaks, in consultation with the Ministry of Health.
