EP Receives tractors under Mechanisation 360

NAIS- The Ministry of Agriculture in the Eastern province has received tractors and related equipment meant to enhance agricultural production and productivity.

This is under the Mechanisation 360 programme.

The machinery will be distributed to 8 districts, namely Chadiza, Chama, Chipata, Katete, Kasenengwa, Lundazi, Mambwe and Petauke, where they will be hired by farmers.

Speaking during the handover in Chipata, Mechanisation Principal Engineer, MUSHANYI SIMUTOWE has reiterated the need to mechanise the agricultural sector.

And Katopola Farm Training Institute Principal, DAVID LIKUKELA says the institute, as one of the Centres of Excellence, will be offering training to farmers and extension officers on operations and maintenance of the machinery.
