ERB assures nation of stable fuel supply

The Energy Regulation Board -ERB- has assured the nation of stable fuel supply.
ERB Director General ELIJAH SICHONE says the country has sufficient stocks of diesel and petrol.
Speaking during a media briefing in Lusaka, Mr. SICHONE acknowledged logistical challenges that have slowed fuel imports.
He said the slowed supply emanates from changes in transit fuel regulations in neighbouring countries such as Zimbabwe, which have resulted in a shift of transportation routes.
Mr. SICHONE said as of November 15th, this year, ERB conducted a survey of the 610 out of 617 retail sites of which 501 were selling both products indicating a percentage of 82.1.
He said ERB is in discussion with oil marketing companies to change their restocking plans by ensuring every retail site has enough stock as a way of discouraging panic buying.
