ERB to decide ZESCO’s emergency tariff application

The Energy Regulation Board- ERB- is today expected to make its final decision regarding ZESCO Emergency Tariff Adjustment application.
Speaking during a public hearing on ZESCO’s emergency tariff application in Lusaka on Monday, ERB Board Chairperson JAMES BANDA said there is no political interference in decisions made by the Board.
Mr. BANDA said the decision it will make regarding the application will be purely by the Board taking into consideration all submissions made.
And ZESCO Managing Director VICTOR MAPANI said the proposed emergency tariffs Adjustment are only applicable to domestic, retail and industrial customers.
Mr. MAPANI said bilateral customers are not included in the Emergency tariff application to ERB.
Meanwhile, Zambia Association of Manufacturers President ASHU SAGAR said the Association recognizes the need for tariff adjustment given the emergency situation the country is going through.
