
Ex-Convict Arrested in Kabwe Serial Killings

Police in Kabwe have arrested a 30-year-old ex-convict, MWILA SAMPA, in connection with the brutal #rape and #murder of three women and the assault of an unknown male victim in the #Mukobeko area.
Mr. SAMPA, who was released from Mukobeko Medium Correctional Facility on February 17, 2025, was initially apprehended on April 8 after being found in possession of a laptop bag belonging to one of the deceased women.
He was handed over to the police, and subsequent investigations led to a shocking confession.
According to Central Province #Police Commissioner CHARITY MUNGANGA, Mr. SAMPA admitted to raping and killing the following women:

AGNES MAMBWE, 65, of Mukobeko Correctional Services Camp, who went missing on March 20 and was found dead behind Mukobeko Maximum Prison on April 9.

EMELDA BANDA, 51, of Maipambe area, who went missing on March 28 and was discovered near Waterworks in Mukobeko on March 31.

JOYCE MATABULA, 44, also of Maipambe, whose body was found on April 4.
Ms. MUNGANGA says in addition to the murders, the suspect also assaulted and robbed an unidentified male victim of his phone. Fortunately, the man survived the attack.
She says police have since recovered some of the stolen items from the suspect’s grandmother’s home in Makululu Compound.
Ms. MUNGANGA added that authorities are continuing investigations and has appealed to the public to report to their nearest police station in Kabwe for any additional information or similar attacks linked to the suspect.
