Expedite payment of Chiefs’ allowances – HH
By Ruth Chayinda
President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA has instructed that payment of allowances to chiefs be expedited.
President HICHILEMA says it is sad that allowances for traditional leaders have been delayed.
He says it is important that traditional leaders are paid at the same time with public service workers to ensure they participate in national affairs effectively.
And President HICHILEMA has called for unity among citizens amid difficult times that the country is facing.
He says despite differences in political opinion, the country should continue to be united just as the traditional leaders are exhibiting unity during traditional ceremonies.
President HICHILEMA said this when he met over 30 chiefs from FIVE provinces ahead of the IKUBI LYA LOONGO traditional ceremony in Shibuyunji district.
The President has also assured chiefs that government will expedite the construction of palaces.
