Farmers welcome $491m grant

The National Association for Small Holder Farmers has commended government for securing the 491 million U.S Dollar Farm to Market grant from the U.S Government.

Association Executive Director FRANK KAYULA says the grant will enable small holder farmers to sign contracts with buyers.

Speaking to ZNBC news in an interview, Dr. KAYULA said this means that benefiting farmers will have a ready market for their produce and help to reduce losses .

Dr. KAYULA has also urged the farmers to consider adding value to their produce so that they make more profit .

Zambia and the United States of America through the Millennium Challenge Corporation recently signed a grant to boost Agricultural sector of Zambia.
