By Christopher Miti
The Football Association of Zambia in Eastern Province has partnered with the Ministry of education to promote grassroots football.
Provincial FAZ chairperson CHRISPIN KAMUNA says the association wants to go back to the old days where talent identification was done in schools.
KAMUNA said the association has since trained five teachers in football administration so that they can also operationalize school leagues in the region.
He was speaking when he presented 250 footballs from FIFA under the FIFA for schools project.
And Eastern Province education officer BRAINLEY MALAMBO said his office has been working with FAZ in the region to promote football.
He said with the right support many young people in the region can go far in football.
Hillside Girls Secondary School head teacher LIZZY ZULU said the donation of footballs will motivate the young ones.
