FIC Report only contains suspicious transactions – VP
By Masauso Mkwayaya
Government says the 2023 Financial Intelligence Centre -FIC- report only contains suspicious cases of corruption which cannot be used to convict people.
Vice President MUTALE NALUMANGO says the cases in the report must be investigated so that evidence is established.
Mrs. NALUMANGO says President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA is on record of calling for cases in the report to be investigated.
Speaking in the National Assembly during the Vice President’s Question Time, Mrs. NALUMANGO said whoever will be found wanting will face the wrath of the law.
Meanwhile the Vice President said the resignation of Anti-Corruption Commission -ACC- Director General THOM SHAMAKAMBA and dissolution of the Board does not exonerate anybody of corruption.
She said those accused must be investigated until proven guilty or innocent.
