By Kasabula Muchimba
Five Provinces are threatened with depletion of ground water.
And Water Resources Management Authority -WARMA- has named the affected provinces as Lusaka, Southern, Eastern, Central and Western.
WARMA Acting Director-General, MISOZI NGULUBE has attributed this to the drought, which has affected various sectors in the country.
Ms. NGULUBE further disclosed that at least 50 per cent of private boreholes in Makeni, Chalala, Chongwe, Silverest and others in Lusaka South and West might dry up by September this year.
She however said government, through the Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit -DMMU- will map new sites where boreholes will be sunk for the water utility companies, which will be affected.
