Former, Current Secretary to Cabinet Supports HH’s Reshuffles

Former Secretary to Cabinet, Leslie Mbula, has welcomed President Hakainde Hichilema’s changes at the ministerial and permanent secretary levels.

In a telephone interview this evening, Mr. Mbula said President Hichilema, who is the appointing authority, is within his power to appoint and fire individuals in his government.

He said the President has, on multiple occasions, emphasized that the government is determined to work and transform the country, and therefore can choose who he wants to work with to deliver for the people of Zambia.

Mr. Mbula stressed that the reshuffles are important because when people stay in one place for a long time, they tend to become complacent in their responsibilities.

And Secretary to the Cabinet Patrick Kangwa says President Hakainde Hichilema has taken decisive action to ensure the strongest possible team delivers for the people.

Mr. Kangwa says the action is about bringing new energy to drive the mission forward and faster.

In a statement to ZNBC News, Mr. Kangwa says the measures being implemented will ensure that the country experiences more growth, more jobs, and more prosperity for the Zambian people.
