Former Mayor backs term limits for mayor
By Mary Kachepa
Former Lusaka Mayor DANIEL CHISENGA has welcomed the proposal to make Members of Parliament part of the Local Authorities.
Mr. CHISENGA however says there should be a limit to the decisions that MPs can influence in the chambers.
And Mr. CHISENGA says the current 10-year limit that Mayors serve should not be amended.
He told ZNBC News that 10-years is sufficient to allow other people with fresh ideas to take over.
Mr. CHISENGA said what is needed is to give Mayors authority to make decisions because Town Clerks are the ones that run Local Authorities.
