Former Minister John Phiri dies

Former Cabinet Minister in the Patriotic Front Government JOHN PHIRI, has died.

Dr PHIRI 75 died on yesterday at Maina Soko Medical Centre in Lusaka after an illness.

Dr PHIRI served as Cabinet Minister between 2011 and 2016 in the Ministries of General Education and Local Government and Housing.

Secretary to the Cabinet, PATRICK KANGWA has confirmed in a statement to ZNBC News today.

Mr KANGWA said Cabinet Office is working in collaboration with the family of the late Dr PHIRI on the funeral arrangements.

He said a detailed funeral programme will be released once burial arrangements are concluded in consultation with the bereaved family.

Funeral gathering of the former Cabinet Minister is being held at Farm number 35 , Balmoral , off Kafue Road Chilanga District.
