FRA closes crop marketing season except for Muchinga and NWP

The Food Reserve Agency -FRA- has closed the crop marketing season for all the provinces in the country except for Muchinga and North Western Provinces.
FRA Executive Director MWANSA CHAMATETE says this is because the Agency has observed a continued inflow of maize in the two Provinces.
Mr CHAMATETE has urged farmers in the remaining provinces to expedite the process of selling their maize.
He says the agency has bought about 594,370 metric tonnes of maize from farmers across the country valued at over 4 billion Kwacha.
This was done during the crop marketing season which has closed today.
