France Seeks to Deepen Investment Ties with Zambia, Says Visiting Ministe
By Sharon Siame
French Visiting Minister of Francophone and International Partnerships, Thani Mohamed-Soilihi, says France would like to deepen its cooperation with Zambia, as the country has many investment opportunities.
Mr. Soilihi also congratulated President Hichilema’s administration for embarking on robust economic reforms and the debt restructuring process.
Speaking when he called on Minister of Finance, Situmbeko Musokotwane, at his office in Lusaka today, Mr. Soilihi said there are many areas in which Zambia and France can cooperate for the mutual benefit of their peoples.
Dr. Musokotwane said that Zambia values the partnership with France and the support it has received from that country over the years.
He said that Zambia is grateful for the support that the French Government rendered during the debt restructuring process through the Paris Club.
Dr. Musokotwane informed the visiting French Minister that going forward, the core of Zambia’s international cooperation will be in the form of cooperation through trade and investment as opposed to borrowing.
