Chief Justice MUMBA MALILA says there is urgent need to address Gender Based Violence -GBV- through comprehensive and robust mechanisms.
Dr. MALILA has also called for more efforts to end incidences of GBV.
He says significant progress has been made in establishing a legal framework to protect GBV survivors and that the Judiciary has introduced anti GBV fast track courts in all the 10 provinces.
Dr. MALILA said this during a workshop on Enhancing Access to Justice for sexual and gender based violence through a multisectoral approach in Lusaka today.
And Justice Minister PRINCESS KASUNE, who was represented by her Permanent Secretary MWENYA KAELA, said Government has enhanced efforts to address GBV through the enactment and review of various pieces of legislation.
Meanwhile, Equality Now Permanent Secretary in Kenya’s Ministry of Justice JUDY NKURANGA said an area of concern is justice and access to justice for women and girls.
