Germany pledges K3.14bn For Zambia’s development agenda

The German Government has pledged 3.14 Billion Kwacha to bolster Zambia’s development agenda over the next two years.
The pledge includes 758 Million Kwacha previously pledged for the drought relief and resilience building efforts.
This was during the bilateral talks on development cooperation held in LUSAKA, which were led by Secretary to the Treasury FELIX NKULUKUSA, Germany Ambassador ANNE WAGNER -MITCHELL and FRANK HOFMANN , Head of Division for Southern Africa, Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.
Speaking during the negotiations, Dr HOFMANN said Germany’s partnership with Zambia is built on a foundation of trust, collaboration and shared values.
Meanwhile Mr NKULUKUSA said the support towards the sectors is commendable considering that this is a direct contribution to addressing the pressing challenges the country is facing.
Ambassador ANNE WAGNER -MITCHELL praised the Zambian Government for its efforts to analyse and address structural impediments to inclusive and sustainable development.
This is according to a joint statement issued to ZNBC News by the Ministry of Finance and the Germany Embassy in LUSAKA.
