Govt concerned over DRC instability

Government is deeply concerned with the instability that has engulfed the Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo- DRC.
Ministry of Defence Permanent Secretary, NORMAN CHIPAKUPAKU says the insecurity in Goma, DRC, requires concerted efforts to restore peace in the region.
Speaking during the official opening of the National Security Strategy Implementation and Rule of Law round table workshop in Lusaka, Mr. CHIPAKUPAKU added that it is in the interest of Zambia that peace in Goma is restored promptly.
And Zambia Army Commander Lieutenant General GEOFFREY ZYEELE said the Army is prepared to handle any disasters that threaten National Peace and Security.
Meanwhile, North Carolina National Guard Assistant Adjutant General CHRISTINA MOORE said the United States is committed to Africa’s security and prosperity.
