Government has launched the 7.5 million euro multi-country Realising Inclusive and Safe Education (RISE) project.
The project is being funded by the Scottish government and will run for five years in Chibombo and Kabwe districts of Central Province.
Speaking at the launch of the project in Lusaka, Ministry of Education Permanent Secretary Joel Kamoko said the project aims to support the government in strengthening safe and quality education for children living with disabilities.
Mr. Kamoko said a multi-sectoral approach towards the project is essential to leverage participation and contribution in teacher training, resource mobilization, among others.
Meanwhile, Scottish government cabinet secretary for Constitution, External Affairs, and Culture, Angus Robertson, says the project will focus on making schools physically accessible for children living with disabilities.
