Govt launches Public Sector Pay Policy and an Emolument Strategy
Government has launched the 2024-2025 Public Sector Pay Policy and the Emoluments Commission’s Strategic Plan.
Secretary to the Cabinet, Patrick Kangwa says the new policy and strategic plan will serve as a crucial guide for the government in managing public sector emoluments in the coming years.
Speaking during the launch, Mr. Kangwa added that the initiatives are designed to ensure fairness, transparency, and sustainability in public service remuneration.
He explained that the policy also seeks to address disparities in salaries and benefits across various sectors.
And Emoluments Commission Director General Chembo Mbula said the success of the policy depends not only on well written documents but also on the commitment and collaborative efforts of all stakeholders.
Meanwhile, International Labour Organisation -ILO- representative Wellington Chibebe said the organisation is ready to provide technical assistance in formulating national strategies to reduce inequalities.
