Government has started carrying out feasibility studies to upgrade airstrips in six national parks across the country.
Among the national parks earmarked to have their airstrips upgraded are Kafue National Park, Liuwa , South Luangwa and Mfuwe.
Tourism Minister RODNEY SIKUMBA says through improved aviation infrastructure, the country will be able to showcase its nature based tourism.
Mr. SIKUMBA says the Government is also investing in all-weather road infrastructure so that there is increased linkage of the national parks.
He said this during the African Parks day commemoration hosted in Lusaka today.
And African Parks Zambia Country Director, JAMES MILANZI said the organisation remains committed to restoring landscape in national parks and game management areas.
Mr. MILANZI said this is being done through investment in park management, improved conservation, law enforcement, infrastructure development and community engagement.
