“Govt procurement will be transparent and corrupt-free”
By Hannock Kasama
Information and Media Permanent Secretary, Thabo Kawana, says the government is determined to sustain a transparent and corrupt-free public procurement process.
Mr. Kawana also says President Hakainde Hichilema’s administration cherishes timely and efficient procurement transactions.
He said this in Lusaka last night during the Zambia Institute of Purchasing and Supply Gala Dinner.
At the same function, Zambia Institute of Purchasing and Supply President, Daniel Kabamba, called for the formulation of a public procurement policy to enhance efficiency in procurement deals.
Mr. Kabamba also called for the establishment of a Procurement General Position in the public sector to add value to the procurement profession.
