By Mark Ziligone
Finance and National Planning Minister SITUMBEKO MUSOKOTWANE has reaffirmed Zambia’s commitment to strengthening its development partnership with the United States.
Dr MUSOKOTWANI says Zambia and the US continue to enjoy a longstanding collaboration across various sectors.
He also highlighted that the economic reforms implemented by the UPND government are already yielding positive results.
In response to recent remarks by US Ambassador MICHAEL GONZALES, the Minister acknowledged the need for a more conducive environment to further promote private sector growth.
Dr. MUSOKOTWANE underscored that investments in key sectors such as mining, agriculture, tourism, and services are crucial for generating the jobs and wealth needed to reduce poverty.
DR. MUSOKOTWANE further noted that Zambia is on track to produce nearly one million tons of copper in 2025.
He explained that this growth will be driven by the expansion of existing mines, the revival of dormant ones, and the establishment of new mining projects.
