Govt releases K10.4m for improved water supply
The government has disbursed 10.4 million kwacha for improving water supply in Kawambwa and Samfya districts in Luapula Province.
The money will go towards rehabilitating water reticulation systems in the two districts.
Water Development and Sanitation Minister, Collins Nzovu, has confirmed the disbursement of the money in a statement availed to ZNBC News today in Lusaka.
Mr. Nzovu has observed that many areas in the two districts have had challenges accessing safe and clean water, with people going for days without the commodity.
He explained that with the release of the money, the situation is expected to change, stating that the contractor for the works, China Gansu Engineering, has already mobilized in Kawambwa.
Mr. Nzovu added that the works are expected to take two months.
