Govt Signs 3 MOUs with Power China

Government has signed three Memoranda of Understanding -MOUs- with PowerChina International Group Limited in energy, agriculture and water sectors.
The first MoU will facilitate the undertaking of a national power planning assessment for the development of energy projects.
The second MoU on Cooperation in Agricultural Modernisation will set out the modalities of Cooperation between Government and Power China International Group Limited in Agriculture mechanization.
While the MoU signed between the Ministry of Water Development and Sanitation and Power China International Group will establish a cooperative relationship to address constraints in Zambia’s water sector.
Power China East and Southern Africa Chief Authorised Representative SONG MINGMING signed on behalf of the Company while Minister of Foreign Affairs MULAMBO HAIMBE signed on behalf of the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Energy.
And Water Development and Sanitation Minister COLLINS NZOVU signed on behalf of his Ministry.
And speaking during the event, Mr. NZOVU said the MoU in the water sector will facilitate the formulation of a comprehensive water Development plan for the Kafue catchment.
And Foreign Affairs Minister MULAMBO HAIMBE said signing of the MoUs marks the commencement of greater things ahead in trying to address the energy crisis.
Meanwhile, Power China International Group Limited Southern Africa Chief Authorized Representative SONG MINGMING described the signing of the MoUs as a milestone.
