Govt Spokesperson Slams Lungu’s ‘Disrespectful’ Remarks
By Ruth Chayinda
Chief Government Spokesperson CORNELIUS MWEETWA says government’s decision to honour the memory of late President MICHAEL SATA should not have been abused by some politicians to gain political mileage.
Mr MWEETWA also noted that it was the duty of President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA as sitting president to dignify Mr. SATA’s memorial Service and it was not a political gathering.
And Mr. MWEETWA has described sentiments by former President EDGAR LUNGU to be an affront and disrespectful to the wishes of the family who attended the event at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross.
He noted that Mr. LUNGU during his time held a number of important national events at Cathedral of the Holy Cross.
