
Govt to Build 220,000 Housing Units Annually

Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development Minister CHARLES MILUPI says government targets to develop 220,000 housing units yearly to address the housing deficit.
Mr. MILUPI says the housing deficit, which stand at over 1.5 million, needs to be addressed urgently as it is projected to rise to 3.3- million by 2030.
He said this in Balmoral in Chilanga District at the launch of the Zambia National Building Society- ZNBS- Kwathu Hills Housing Project.
Mr MILUPI said the project marks a transformative milestone of Government’s commitment to address the country’s housing needs and creating a future where every citizen has access to decent, affordable and sustainable housing.
And ZNBS Managing Director MILDRED MUTESA said people can pay for the land in installments with repayment plan of up to 6- years.
