Govt to also consider past Reports in Amendments
By Sharon Siame
Justice Minister, PRINCESS KASUNE has assured Zambians that the constitution amendment process will take into consideration all other commission reports that have been conducted in the past.
Ms. KASUNE says this is NOT meant to negate the consultation process itself.
She says several Constitution Review Commissions that have been held in the country for many years have brought out good reports; hence there is no need to start from the ground.
Ms. KASUNE notes that her Ministry is a facilitator on behalf of the people and the Executive to ensure that the aspirations of the people are taken into consideration.
The Justice Minister said this when she met, British High Commissioner to Zambia REBECCA TERZEON at her office in Lusaka today.
And Ms. TERZEON said her Government will closely follow the constitution amendment process.
Ms. TERZEON said she is aware of a range of reforms that the Zambian Government is undertaking such as the Public Order Act, Cyber security, Electoral Reforms and Media regulations among others.
She said the British Government is committed to supporting Zambia’s journey on good governance.
