
Govt to erect Solar Power Plant In Monze

President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA says Government will put up a solar power plant in Monze District to supply electricity to Chikuni and Rusangu Missions.
President HICHILEMA says the solar power plant which will produce not less than 5 mega Watts of electricity will supply power to the two missions and surrounding communities.
President HICHILEMA says Government has learned valuable lessons from the effects of the drought and is working to ensure energy and food security are not threatened by future weather conditions.
Speaking during the 120th Anniversary celebrations of Chikuni Mission in Monze District, President HICHILEMA also said the Chikuni Ranch will be revived to provide the mission with alternative source of income.
The President donated 10 hiefers and one bull to help the ranch kick-start its revival journey.
President HICHILEMA says he will also engage his networks to ensure the ranch has 100 cattle within a month .
He says infrastructure to support the ranch will also be rehabilitated.
