Govt to firmly deal with attempts to disrupt Peace
(ZANIS) Government will not allow anyone to disturb the peace the country is currently enjoying.
UPND National spokesperson CORNELIUS MWEETWA says the government will firmly deal with any attempts by some people to make the country ungovernable.
Mr MWEETWA who is also Information and Media Minister was speaking in Choma today at a rally to drum up support for UPND candidate MAYBIN MUDENDA in the Mubula local government by elections slated for July 12, 2024.
And , Mr MWEETWA said UPND is not in any way worried about the political comeback of former President EDGAR LUNGU.
He said the party is surprised that the Former President wants to lead the nation again despite the amount of distraction under his leadership.
Mr MWEETWA said the country is currently under a leadership that is serious and determined to change the livelihoods of the citizens.
Meanwhile, Mr MWEETWA said the UPND is ready to grab the nine seats that were recently declared vacant once the Electoral Commission of Zambia sets the date for the by-elections.
He expressed the ruling party’s optimism to win all the seats.
And ZANIS reports that efforts to get comments from the Patriotic Front Fraction failed as the phone of Information and Publicity chairperson EMMANUEL MWAMBA went unanswered.
