Govt to Implement Irrigation Projects

Ministry of Agriculture Permanent Secretary John Mulongoti  says the Ministry has put in place interventions to ensure irrigation activities are implemented this year.

In an interview with ZNBC News in Lusaka today, Mr. Mulongoti  said the Ministry of Agriculture is putting in place irrigation schemes in areas where there are irrigation facilities.

He said renovation and rehabilitation of dams in many parts of the country has also commenced.

Mr. Mulongoti  said that the Ministry, in collaboration with the Ministry of Water is also planning the development of more dams.

And the Agriculture PS said that the Ministry is on course with the crop forecast survey for the 2024/2025 farming season.

Mr. Mulongoti  said the questionnaire has already been completed and that enumerators have been trained to collect the data from the farmers.
