Govt to revamp Livingstone- Copperbelt railway line

Government says plans are underway to revamp the railway line from Livingstone to the Copperbelt Province to enhance trade with neighbouring countries .
Infrastructure ,Housing and Urban Development Minister CHARLES MILUPI says the railway line will also be connected to Kazungula district in Southern Province .
Mr. MILUPI has disclosed that the Government is discussing with Botswana on connecting the railway line to the Trans Kalahari railway line being done on their side .
He says Zambia’s railway line is in a bad state with trains currently running at a low speed of 20 kilometers per hour.
Mr MILUPI was speaking to ZNBC news on developments in infrastructure .
And Engineering Institution of Zambia President WESLEY KALUBA says the Institution will soon start identifying and honouring Engineers who have contributed to the construction of key infrastructure in the country.
