Acting Home Affairs and Internal Security Minister, DOUGLAS SYAKALIMA has warned that government will not tolerate threats against President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA.
The warning comes after circulation on social media of a video depicting some youths in Kitwe on the Copperbelt, threatening to remove President HICHILEMA from office with pangas in 2026.
Mr. SYAKALIMA, who is Education Minister, has since directed police to locate the youths within 48 hours, stating that the law will be applied.
At a media briefing in Lusaka today, Mr. SYAKALIMA that such behaviour, if tolerated, can escalate into violence, deterring investment and instilling fear in citizens.
