Grades 7 and 9 results are out
The Ministry of Education has released grade nine and seven results with both grades recording an increase in the pass rate.
Out of the 302, 870 candidates who sat for the 2024 grade 9 examinations,169,280 have obtained the Junior Secondary School Leaving Certificate.
Education Minister DOUGLAS SYAKALIMA says the results show an increase of two point three percent pass rate compared to 2023.
And Mr SYAKALIMA announced that out of 491,785 candidates who sat for the Grade 7 examinations, 350,116 candidates obtained Primary School Leaving Certificates.
Mr SYAKALIMA says the progression rate from primary school to secondary school which will now be form one has slightly improved to 71.19 percent in 2024 from 69 percent in 2023.
To check the results, candidates can use their mobile phones to send an SMS with their examination number, year, and grade to 8383, following the format: “Examination Number Year Grade”.
Alternatively, results can be accessed online through the Examinations Council of Zambia website.²
