Gwembe Member of Parliament Tyson Simuzingili has urged residents in the constituency to take advantage of Lake Kariba and invest in irrigation.
Speaking to ZNBC News, Mr. Simuzingili says this can help cushion the impact of the drought experienced in the 2023 to 2024 agricultural rain season.
He disclosed that one million kwacha from the 2023 Constituency Development Fund (CDF) was allocated for irrigation, while six thousand kwacha was set aside for boreholes.
Mr. Simuzingili said the processes are almost complete, and cooperatives are expected to start the project soon.
And Mr. Simuzingili also said the veterinary department in the district is conducting vaccinations to prevent diseases affecting animals.
