Hamasaka praises ZESCO for Not Laying Off Workers
By Angela Limwanya
State House Chief Communication Specialist, CLAYSON HAMASAKA has praised ZESCO for not laying off workers during one of the worst droughts experienced in the country.
Mr. HAMASAKA says no jobs have been lost at the power utility company despite the drought induced economic challenges it has faced.
He says it is important for the public to note that the company is still facing challenges with its operations due to low water levels regardless of the floods experienced in some parts of the country.
Mr. HAMASAKA was speaking in Livingstone during a conducted tour of the Victoria Falls Power Station.
And, Senior Power Station Manager, PAUL MWANZA said the station is currently generating power at full capacity of 108 megawatts.
He said the tourist capital continues to have load management because the power station is sharing generated electricity with other parts of the country.
