HAMUDUDU proposes unbundling of ZESCO

Party of National Unity and Progress -PNUP- Leader HIGHVIE HAMUDUDU says the energy reforms being undertaken by the UPND government are progressive.

Mr. HAMUDUDU says the reforms will secure and revitalise the energy sector.

He says the reforms include cost reflective tariffs that will attract private sector investment.

Mr. HAMUDUDU also notes that among the energy reforms needed is the unbundling of ZESCO to bring about efficiency in the electricity value chain.

In a statement issued to ZNBC News, Mr. HAMUDUDU urged Zambians not to worry about the effects of unbundling the power company because if that happens, ZESCO will still own its significant assets in the sector and even make more money for its shareholders.
