
Heavy Rains Cause Destruction in Kitwe’s Malembeka and Luangwa Compounds
Heavy rains have left a trail of destruction in Malembeka and Luangwa compounds in Kitwe on the Copperbelt.
A check in the affected areas found several houses collapsed, while others have had their roofs blown off.
Electricity supply in some parts of the two compounds has also been affected, following the collapse of some ZESCO poles.
Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit, Luangwa Ward Coordinator, Bernard Chanda, has disclosed that over 20 houses have been identified so far.
