HH asks the church to help the needy
President Hakainde Hichilema has urged the church to help the needy in society as the country goes through difficult times.
President Hichilema says the weak in society need the intervention of the church through community work and spiritual support.
Speaking at a church service at Njanji Seventh-Day Adventist (SDA) in Lusaka’s Libala area, President Hichilema commended the Dorcas Society for their community work in the country.
President Hichilema said 2024 was a difficult year, worsened by the drought.
President Hichilema urged the SDA Church and its departments, like the Dorcas Society, to continue serving the community and helping the needy.
The President says the church must also help in strengthening the family system in the country during these difficult times.
He said if the family is strong, the nation will also have a strong foundation.
President Hichilema also made a 200,000 kwacha contribution to help with the ongoing construction works at the church.
Njanji SDA Church is refurbishing the car park and finishing up the Children’s Chapel.
SDA Southern Africa-Indian Ocean Division President Harrington Akombwa said Zambia is blessed to have a President who fears God.
In his prayer for President Hichilema, Dr. Akombwa asked God that Zambia should prosper in the near future under President Hichilema.
Dr. Akombwa also called on God to help President Hichilema unite the nation.
He said once the nation is united, it will achieve a lot.
