HH asks Scouts and Guides to fight Climate Change
By Doreen Chembe
President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA has called for concerted efforts in the fight against climate change.
President HICHILEMA says Zambia is a signatory to the Paris Agreement on Climate Change whose overall objective is to strengthen the global response to the threat of Climate Change.
The President said this in a Speech read on his behalf by Ministry of Green Economy and Environment, Permanent Secretary Dr. DOUTY CHIBAMBA during the Zambian Scouts and Guides Commemorations of Scouts Movement Founders day.
President HICHILEMA has since urged the Scouts and Guides movement to continue taking part in the fight against Climate Change and has pledged Government’s Support to this fight.
He says it is evident that the values taught to Scouts and Guides through the Patrol System are adding value to the Society.
Meanwhile, Zambia Scout Association Chief Scout COLLIN BARRY said government has made significant headway in the fight against Climate change.
The event was commemorated under the theme “Together we can reverse Climate Change effects”.
