President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA has asked South Africa to set up a vehicle parts manufacturing plant in Zambia.
President HICHILEMA says as a leading vehicle manufacturer in the region, South Africa can invest in a plant in Zambia and leverage on critical minerals like Copper.
He says the strong heritage between Zambia and South Africa should be used to strengthen trade and investments between the two countries.
President HICHILEMA has observed that South Africa is already Zambia’s biggest trading partner and should further work to strengthen economic diplomacy.
The President was speaking today when he received letters of credence from South African Envoy, SAAD CACHALIA and the Egyptian Envoy, MAYADA ESSAM ABDEL RAHMAN MOHAMED.
And President HICHILEMA has said Zambia will engage Egypt to tap into that country’s agricultural irrigation expertise as the country rolls out the system to respond to the drought.
President HICHILEMA says Egypt is vested in agricultural technologies that have enabled it to produce a lot of food.
And Egyptian Ambassador to Zambia, MAYADA ESSAM ABDEL RAHMAN MOHAMED has invited President HICHILEMA to visit her country to further relations.
Ms MOHAMED said Egypt is ready to take advantage of the conducive investment climate Zambia has created.
And South African High Commissioner to Zambia, SAAD CACHALIA thanked Zambia for its role in the independence of his country during the apartheid era.
