HH attends Mass at Saint Mary’s Assumption Parish
President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA today joined hundreds of Catholics at Saint Mary’s Assumption Parish, in Kabwe, Central province, where he attended Mass.
The Mass was in commemoration of Saint Monica, a committed Christian woman, born in a good Catholic family.
President HICHILEMA greeted the congregation and reminded them of the need to be good servants of the people, as per homily by Kabwe Diocese Bishop CLEMENT MULENGA.
The President was accompanied to the Mass by the Central Province Minister, MWABASHIKE NKULUKUSA, Kabwe Central MP, CHRIZOSTER PHIRI and other government officials.
And in his homily, Kabwe Diocese Bishop, CLEMENT MULENGA implored leaders to be good servants of the people.
Bishop MULENGA said leaders have a duty to follow God’s example of guiding and protecting their people.
The Kabwe Diocese Bishop said God is the chief shepherd who guides and protects his people, hence the need for leaders to follow his example.
He also challenged Christians to emulate the life of St. Monica by being prayerful.
Bishop MULENGA said Christians should pray for one another at all times, just like St. Monica in the bible, who prayed for her son St. Augustine to be converted to Christianity.
He said Saint Augustine’s conversation could not have been possible without the prayers of his mother.
