HH Calls for Peaceful Campaigns and Elections
President Hakainde Hichilema says he desires peaceful campaigns and elections in the upcoming parliamentary and local government by-elections in various parts of the country.
President Hichilema says peace and a violence-free electoral process have been one of the priority areas since he assumed office in 2021.
The Head of State says he values culture and tradition, which is why he has endeavored to attend as many traditional ceremonies as possible in a calendar year.
President Hichilema says the government will ensure that many chiefs’ palaces are completed and handed over before the end of his first term in office.
The President said this in a message delivered on his behalf by Special Assistant to the President for Politics, Levy Ngoma, to Chief Mumbi at his palace in Petauke District.
Meanwhile, Chief Mumbi says President Hichilema’s presence at traditional ceremonies has enhanced interactions among traditional leaders and united them.
