HH Challenges African Govts on digitalization

President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA says digitisation and technology is critical to Africa’s quest for accelerating social and economic development.
President HICHILEMA says African governments must use digital technology to accelerate growth in their respective economies.
The President says the power of digital technology can be used to address several challenges facing the continent.
President HICHILEMA says digital technology can be used to make Africa’s borders more efficient so that countries can trade more with each other.
The President HICHILEMA is, however, saddened that African governments are holding back the digitisation agenda.
President HICHILEMA said this when he officially opened the 2024 Digital Africa Summit in Lusaka today.
And Home Affairs Minister JACK MWIIMBU noted Zambia’s commitment to leveraging technology to streamline public service delivery.
Meanwhile, Senator of the Federal State of Nigeria, GARBA-MUSA MAIDOKI said the African continent cannot move forward without digitising Information Communication Technology.
And Senior Vice President of Visa Incorporation, AIDA DIARRA said technology should be embraced on the continent as it leads to phenomenal results.
And in a vote of thanks, Technology and Science Minister FELIX MUTATI called for more support for African leaders to deliver the change in the digital transformation agenda.
