President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA says government is determined to ensure that all chiefs’ palaces are constructed within the next three years.
President HICHILEMA says this is one of Government’s initiatives of improving the lives of Chiefs as it is an investment that has been prioritised.
He says this is why Government has opted to construct palaces and provide transport to Chiefs, as they undertake the noble duty of leading their subjects.
President HICHILEMA was speaking when he officially handed over the newly constructed Palace and retainers houses for Senior Chieftainess NKOMESHYA MUKAMAMBO the second in Chongwe today.
He also noted that Government has ensured that the palaces being constructed have access to clean water and electricity.
President HICHILEMA expressed optimism that this will motivate the subjects to also construct such infrastructure.

During the handover of the Palace on behalf of the Chieftainess, Ms. MERVIS NKOMESHYA thanked Government for the structure saying it has changed the status of the Chieftainess in the area.
