President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA says he is happy with the partnership action plan for Africa’s development announced by President XI JINPING.
President HICHILEMA says Zambia is happy that most of the issues in the plan are in line with the aspirations of his governments development agenda.
He says some of issues are also related to what the two countries agreed during his state visit to China.
He says the access to market offer will give Zambia and other countries a market for goods in China.
The President says his team has started work to identify specific projects and programmes for collaboration with China.
The head of State was speaking today in Beijing when he met Chinese Minister of International Development LIU JIANCHAO.
Yesterday, during the official opening of the Forum for China Africa Cooperation -FOCAC-President XI unveiled ten partnership actions that will offer support to Africa in various sectors.
Some of the actions include the development of 30 clean energy projects, free access to the market, medical support to the Centre for Disease Control and construction of infrastructure projects in Africa.
And President HICHILEMA is happy that his visit has started paying dividend as evidenced with the signing of agreement to revive Tazania Zambia Railways- TAZARA.
The President says the TAZARA project is vital for regional and international trade.
President HICHILEMA has also commended President XI for the decentralised governance system that is visible in provincial areas.
He says the Zambian Government has started implementing a similar policy to spur development to all parts of the country.
And Mr LIU has pledged to work with the Zambian government in implementing the action plan in sectors of the economy.
Mr LIU says his country wants to enhance relationships that are beneficial for both parties.
